Something new is happening in Barcelona with the birth of the label The Game. Created by 4 friends, The Game provides us for its first release a nice EP with the following talents: Skymark, Nas1, Jose Rico and Gari Romalis.

French Version

On the first side, the swiss artist Skymark begins with « Obsession », a track with cosmic-jazz vibes added to an aerial and mind-blowing bassline. The man, who is currently living in Brasil, is known for his passion for Bossa nova and managed to collaborate with legends of house music like Theo Parrish.

Then we have « Who Said Guys » from the italian duo Nas1. It is a very personal and experimental track where the raw sound of Akai Mpc goes trough a dark acid atmosphere and the result is efficient and captivating. Coming from Bologna, Nas1 have signed on various labels like Bosconi and are the creators of the label Criminal Records.

The second side starts with a track from Jose Rico, the co-director of Downbeat. The spanish artist managed to create an old school and spiritual vibe with « Just Back Train », taking influences from Ron Trent and Chez Damier.

The EP finishes with the excellent « Motown » from Detroit based artist Gari Romalis. This track confirms the skills and the knowledge of the artist as far as production is concerned, with raw beats and aerial melodies. Have a look at the interview we made with him if you want to learn more about the man.

As a conclusion we can say that The Game offers us a first release that gets off the beaten tracks but manages perfectly to mix artists with very distinct musical backgrounds while providing a coherent artistic vision. The Game just won the first round.
